Building Health Systems Rooted in Community and Faith

In partnership with the Methodist Church of Togo, Impact Global Health Alliance is working to transform maternal and child health in the rural communities of Zouvi and Sivamé. Through a long-term collaboration grounded in shared values, we’re strengthening local health systems while equipping mothers and families with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive.

At the heart of this effort are two proven approaches:

CBIO+ (Census-Based, Impact-Oriented Approach): A data-driven method that reaches every household with tailored health education, home visits, and responsive services.

Care Groups: A peer-to-peer model where trained local mothers share practical lessons with other women in their community, encouraging healthy behaviors and mutual support.

Alongside these community-based strategies, the project also focuses on:

      1. Training and supporting local health workers
      2. Improving health center staffing and services
      3. Strengthening hygiene and sanitation practices
      4. Mobilizing community leadership to ensure long-term impact

Together, these efforts form a sustainable, church-led model for improving health—one that reflects the compassion, dignity, and resilience of the communities it serves.
