Impact Global Health Alliance Global receives funding from several different sources: generous individuals, foundations like Ronald McDonald House Charities, and US Government agencies such as the Agency for International Development (USAID) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We also receive contributions from other private donors like churches and businesses.

In our 2013-2014 Fiscal Year 84% of our funds went directly to support health programs for mothers and children.

We specialize in community-based Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation, Nutrition, Malaria Management, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment, and Capacity-Building.

Mortality causes vary by location, but some of the primary causes of maternal mortality are hypertensive disorders, hemorrhage, obstructed labor, and sepsis. Childhood mortality is the deaths of children under five years of age. These deaths are most commonly due to neonatal conditions (including infection, asphyxia, and preterm complications), diarrheal disease, pneumonia, and malnutrition. The vast majority of these causes are preventable through education and access to basic health care.

Our organization started as Andean Rural Health Care while working in the Andes Mountains of Bolivia. After expanding to Guatemala the name was changed to Impact Global Health Alliance to reflect our work across all of the Americas. Now we are Impact Global Health Alliance Global to reflect our expansion to work with communities all over the world.

The amount of travel can vary for each country based on the project needs and available funding. Generally each Program Manager makes 2-4 visits a year. Other staff members visit when funding is available. Our strong focus on local partnership allows us to work remotely to keep funds going directly to meet project goals.
