Community members listen to a lesson about Ebola

Partnerships to combat Ebola

In January 2015, Impact Global Health Alliance Global started a program to combat the Ebola outbreak in Liberia. The project will reach 2,247 households, or approximately 13,000 people, in 11 communities with Ebola awareness programs within six months. This project has a generous support from Feed the Children and in partnership with Ganta United Methodist Hospital and the Liberia United Methodist Annual Conference, this project is now well underway.

Care Groups progress

Thanks to a longstanding relationship between Impact Global Health Alliance Global’s Nehnwaa project and the community, our program was quickly accepted and supported in Nimba county. Meanwhile, in January, we recruited and trained key staff and initiated contact with all community leaders. For instance, we introduced our program to community members via letters, public assemblies, completed a census and mapping project of seven communities.
In February, our focus turns to activating Care Groups in all 11 communities. Subsequently, to this end, we finalized the Ebola lesson plans to be used by the Care Groups. To support our program in Liberia, please visit our Ebola Fundraising Page.
