We love our Interns!

At Impact Global Health Alliance Global we value our interns who volunteer their time, energy, and education to help us achieve our goal of hope through health. We are excited to welcome three new interns who will be working with us throughout the summer. These young women are passionate about providing health care and outreach for mothers and children in low-resource communities around the world. As well as developing their skills as public health professionals. Thank you to all past and present interns who have contributed to the continued growth of Impact Global Health Alliance Global and our programs abroad!

Emmy Burroughs

This summer we are excited to welcome our new Outreach and Development Intern, Emmy Burroughs! Emmy is currently an undergraduate at Duke University where she is completing a double major in Global Health and Psychology. At Duke, she stays busy as the president of both the Duke Durham Health Alliance and the club soccer team. Also actively involved in her local community, Emmy volunteers at El Futuro, a mental health clinic in Durham for Latino Immigrants, and at Central Regional Psychiatric Hospital.

This past year, she studied in Madrid, Spain for a semester, and hopes to continue her travels by visiting Southeast Asia after graduation next year. After college, Emmy plans to purse a career in public health and then attend graduate school. She feels that interning with Impact Global Health Alliance will not only provide her with valuable experience, but also further develop her passion for public health by working with an organization that supports sustainable health for women and children.

Sarah Clark

We are also happy to introduce our newest Events and Outreach summer intern, Sarah Clark! A recent graduate of NC State, Sarah is continuing her education by pursing a Masters degree in International Studies, with a concentration in African Studies. While in college, Sarah was the president of the International Studies Club. Which worked to foster cross-cultural communication between students on campus. Sarah’s passion for traveling and international studies began while living abroad in Germany for two years. This opportunity allowed her to travel extensively throughout western Europe, Greece, and Egypt. Sarah later returned to Europe to study abroad in Vienna, Austria.

Sarah began her work in public health as an intern for USAID. At USAID she  updated and created new maps to aid the national government and larger NGOs. Driven to make a global impact through supporting sustainable development, Sarah feels Impact Global Health Alliance will help her learn more about developing sustainable and self-sufficient communities.

 Zoe Early

We are excited to welcome our new summer Administrative Intern, Zoe Early! Zoe recently completed her first year at the University of Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a degree in Health and Societies with a minor in Psychology. Three years ago, Zoe volunteered with Impact Global Health Alliance by traveling to Guatemala. In Guatemala she helped to further develop the local Casa Maternas maternity centers. She is now back for the summer as an intern. She hopes to deepen her understanding of and passion for public health while working at Impact Global Health Alliance.

At Penn, Zoe is a member of the Track and Field team and competes in the pole vault. She is also a member of Penn’s Young Quaker Youth mentoring program and Glia organization.  After college, Zoe plans to work around the world to create more efficient and sustainable public health care infrastructure in developing countries to further support maternal and infant health.
