Interns are a valuable part of Impact Global Health Alliance Global. Last year interns contributed 2,163 hours of their time in our office, significantly aiding us in our mission. We are lucky to have several of these great interns from last year joining us again: Kelsey Wilson, Susan Ventaloro, Aditya Mehta, and Annie Kaiser (learn about them in our summer and fall 2016 posts). Additionally, we would like to welcome three new interns for the spring semester:
Taranjot Bajwa
Taranjot Bajwa grew up in Cary, NC and is currently a senior at Meredith College majoring in Public Health with minors in Biology and Chemistry. She is working as an Events & Outreach Intern with Impact Global Health Alliance Global. She is currently helping to organize two events in Raleigh and Fayetteville, NC to engage supporters and raise funds for our projects abroad. She enjoys working with Impact Global Health Alliance because it allows her to bring her education full circle and allows her to utilize her background in Public Health to help Impact Global Health Alliance create measurable and sustainable improvements in underserved communities. Her long term goal is to become a Physician Assistant and bring services to underprivileged populations. In her free time she has been teaching herself calligraphy and also loves to attend dance and zumba classes.
Maggie Creed
I am a senior at Meredith College where I am majoring in Public Health and minoring in Business, Biology, and Psychology. I have always had an interest in international studies and public health interventions, and interning at Impact Global Health Alliance Global has only increased my interest. This semester I am working as an Administrative Intern where I will be creating and developing marketing reports, keeping our records and registrations up to date, and providing general office assistance. In my spare time you can find me watching Friends reruns or going on walks with my corgi puppy!
Nat Mansfield
Nat is originally from Greenville, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Appalachian State University in 2013. Following graduation he lived in Harbin, China where he worked as an English teacher. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in International Studies from North Carolina State University. Nat is joining Impact Global Health Alliance Global as a Website and Digital Marketing intern where he will assist with newsletters, social media, and write blog posts about the ongoing projects and initiatives. He was excited to jump at the opportunity to work with Impact Global Health Alliance Global having recently discovered them as an NGO local to the triangle, and believing in the empowerment focused approach that they take towards international development. He hopes to build on his experiences in a career that engages internationally after graduation. Nat likes to spend his free time by cooking, reading, and making his way through a spreadsheet he keeps of movies and TV shows to watch in his lifetime.
