On March 21st, 2025 over 20 stakeholders gathered on Zoom for Impact Global Health Alliance’s annual meeting. Over three hours volunteers, board members, staff, partners and our co-founder engaged in discussion and listened to key updates. Topics covered included an overview of our strategic plan scorecard, reports on programming and details about Vision 2.0–an exciting new partnership program.
Executive Director Andrew Herrera reviewed IGHA’s strategic plan scorecard which showed that progress to achieve the goals set out in the strategic plan was overwhelmingly on target for achievement. The scorecard also detailed highlights, successes and opportunities for each goal so that attendees could further understand how progress was made and what areas for growth remain. Impact Global Health Alliance’s strategic plan is a robust, living document that is reviewed annually and incorporates feedback which
Barbara Muffoletto, Senior Program Manager, shared updates from our programs and partners from Kenya and Guatemala. Each program had exciting successes to highlight. Our Guatemala program launched a new training called Humanization, Cultural Adaptation and Respect for Motherhood that teaches healthcare workers how to empower and support mothers during a birth. Program data from Kenya shows that 100% of births in 2024 occurred in a health facility which is critical to reducing maternal and early neonatal deaths.
Another highlight from 2024 was our partners from Kenya, Haiti, Togo and Barbara Muffoletto attending the Core Group Global Health Practitioners Conference in Nairobi. The team presented at 5 sessions including a 4-hour workshop on the Care Group approach and an introduction to our Meaningful app at “Appy Hour”. After the conference, all parties engaged in a hands-on knowledge exchange allowing partners from outside Kenya to see KIKOP’s model in action.
Following program updates it was time to learn about Vision 2.0, a proposed partnership model based on optimizing resources for both Impact Global Health Alliance and our potential partners to maximize impact. Meeting attendees gave input and asked thoughtful questions to round out the final portion of the annual meeting. Vision 2.0 provides an exciting way for IGHA to grow its impact using existing resources and sustainably scale our life-saving work.
We are so grateful for all members of the Impact Global Health Alliance community for your contributions throughout 2024 and we look forward to even more progress in 2025!
