IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVERS
If you are a US taxpayer age 70½ or older, you may be eligible for the IRA charitable rollover, also known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). These tax-advantaged distributions allow you to make a gift to the Impact Global Health Alliance Endowment from your IRA without paying income tax on the amount transferred.
A tax-savvy way to give
You can help us secure Impact Global Health Alliance’s future by making a tax-free charitable gift directly from your IRA. IRA gifts are directed to our Endowment, which means they’re added to the base of funds that safeguards secure Impact Global Health Alliance from future challenges.
To qualify:
- You must be a US taxpayer 70½ or older at the time of the gift.
- For 2025, total QCD gifts cannot exceed $108,000 per donor.
- The rollover must be made directly from your IRA to the secure Impact Global Health Alliance Endowment.
Benefits:
- If you don’t itemize your income tax deductions, a QCD offers all of the benefits of an itemized income tax charitable deduction.
- The rollover can be used to satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) which begins at age 73.
- The rollover is made by simply instructing your IRA plan administrator to transfer funds directly from your IRA account to the secure Impact Global Health Alliance Endowment (Tax ID 00-0000000).
- Rollovers are excellent ways to make annual gifts or satisfy multi-year pledges.

A few words from IRA donors
Meet JoAnn and Dave Heiser! The Heisers have been involved with Impact Global Health Alliance since 2009, traveling on work teams, serving on the Board of Advisors and volunteering in the office and around NC with us. Recently they completed a generous three-year pledge from their IRA Required Minimum Distributions. “We support Impact Global Health Alliance because it multiplies the value and impact of our gifts meeting the basic needs of mothers and children. Giving from IRAs provides a tax write-off, and it is so easy to do. We have been blessed with resources to share and, when you are ‘old enough,’ we encourage you to give wisely and joyfully as well.
Did You Know?
If you’re not in a position to make an IRA Charitable Rollover during your lifetime, you can use your IRA to make a planned gift to Impact Global Health Alliance in the future. To do so, simply name Impact Global Health Alliance as a beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA by contacting your plan administrator and requesting a Beneficiary Designation Form.
Thanks to new legislation, if you’re 70½ years of age or older you can use your IRA Charitable Rollover to fund a charitable gift annuity (CGA) and satisfy your RMD. Contact [email protected] to learn more.
