Mother’s Day at the Guatemalan consulate – Impact Global Health Alliance Global serving here in North Carolina

The new Guatemalan consulate opened in Raleigh in July 2017. It’s the first in North Carolina and serves more than 110,000 Guatemalans who live across the Carolinas. The consulate provides many services including assistance with legal documents, issues and approves passports and provides legal advice.

One Saturday a month, volunteers with Impact Global Health Alliance Global will be at the event providing health education, reading to children, distributing food and drinks, as well as helping families set up email addresses or Facebook accounts.  Watch our Facebook Video here. Impact Global Health Alliance Global serves mothers and children in underserved communities around the world and right here in Raleigh by educating them about vital health practices and working with leaders to establish connections and resources for the community. This year, so far, we have reached over 400 Guatemalans living in North Carolina.

“Our partnership with the Guatemalan Consulate is vital in creating lasting benefits for our local community through education, service and empowerment,” said Impact Global Health Alliance Global Executive Director Andrew Herrera.

Impact Global Health Alliance’ participation would not have been complete without the cooperation of the consulate and staff who facilitated access to the consulate. And a stand to display the life-saving work the organization is doing to reduce maternal and child mortality around the world.
