Graduate students spend their summer in Liberia

Jesse Greenspan is a recipient of the John Snow, Inc. Award to spend her summer as an intern at our Nehnwaa Child Survival Project in Liberia.  Jesse is a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health and an MSPH candidate in the Social & Behavioral Interventions Program.

Jesse and fellow interns will be conducting research to learn how to conduct future maternal and child health interventions and they will be working with local staff and local community health educators to strengthen the capacity of the Nehnwaa Project.

Jesse has completed coursework in France and in Cameroon as she conducted research about international development that has helped lead her to where she is today.  She previously worked at Partners in Health and has decided to further her education in public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in Baltimore, Maryland.

She is accompanied by fellow Impact Global Health Alliance Global interns Nancy Warren, Ashley Reaves, and Cyra Patel, a fellow JHSPH student.  Jesse and Cyra will continue their work in Liberia until the end of August.
